SEARCHING IBERÁ

Germany/ Argentina 1991
Malena Films in co-production with Sender Freies Berlin
with support of the Land Brandenburg

Documentary/fiction, 16mm, 90 min
Locations: Germany and Argentina

Summary:
At the center of "Searching Iberá" is the figure of Rob, a young Berliner, representing the european perception of a foreign world, which ultimately reveals itself as not being as strange as it first seemed. Since he was a child, Rob believes that his own origines might be indo-argentinian. Finally he travels to Argentina, to Iberá, an enormous Water-Pampa, of which mysterious tales are told.
Rob does not find any exotic, but misery. He has to realize, that his fantasies have nothing to do with reality. Imagination might be the only "true reality" in this strange place of dreams and myths.
